A new rumor has spread like wildfire across the internet, and it seems to be quite promising. The rumor could be connected to GTA 6, one of the most anticipated titles and a potential sequel to the previous title, which was released in 2013.
Many PS4 and Xbox One owners are stressed as one of the most popular rumors argue that GTA 6 may be restricted to the next generation of consoles and other hardware. This means that it could be available on the PS5, Xbox Scarlet, Google Stadia, and PC.
Rockstar hasn’t offered any statement s related to this rumor, but some are confident that the studio will not ditch the current generation of consoles. One of the biggest argument in favor of this view is the massive install base which could contribute to sales numbers.
Some industry analysts argue that a version for the current console generation is unlikely since Take-Two and Rockstar Games want to offer a fresh experience, free of the limitations which could be imposed by the PS4 and Xbox One.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has offered an interview recently and mentioned some exciting details. Some of the upcoming titles could harness the entire potential of upcoming platforms to offer a fresh experience for gamers. GTA 6 was not mentioned by name, but it is likely that Rockstar’s admiral franchise will receive the special treatment.
At this point, one of the aspirations is to offer such a high level of graphical fidelity that it will be hard to tell if you are looking at a video game or real-life content. However, there are games which have a specific style and wouldn’t work well in this context.
Other major franchises like NBA 2K could be reinvented with the help of the new technology, as some players complain that they have become a bit stale in recent years.
