

The trade fair for video games, Gamescom, takes place every year at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. August 20 was the day the conference officially started, but only the press and the trade visitors were allowed. The public had access the following day.
At Gamescom comes a lot of video game developers to reveal their upcoming games. The start of the trade fair came with numerous press conferences. Therefore, there were plenty of announcements from the game developers, such as Nintendo, Xbox, or Google. Let’s take a look at what they are saying.
The host of Opening Night Live was Geoff Keighley. He is a Canadian video game journalist and a famous TV presenter.
At Gamescom, Keighley revealed some surprise releases of games made for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Another cool thing we discovered is the alpha test of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will soon release on PS 4 for free.
Something worth mentioning is the fact that Sony announced Insomniac.
Although Gamescom started on August 20, the day where all the big news reveals is August 19. In that day there were a lot of press-conference events and live streams.

Google presented Stadia Connect, along with new trailers. Then it came the Inside Xbox presentation with new things about Xbox One and PC games.
A part of the conference was for the upcoming game Death Stranding. The devs revealed gameplay and the character Mama. But with no further details, this game will continue to wear the veil of mystery.
Nintendo announced that Superhot and Hotline Miami will now be available on Switch. Another game coming on Switch is Ori and the Blind Forest, as it was available only on Xbox One and PC.
Xbox, present too at Gamescom, made a live broadcast were the developers revealed many trailers and upcoming games. Also, they introduced the Gears 5’s Horde mode, the new colors of Xbox One controllers and one of the latest Xbox Game Pass games. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep was mentioned, coming as a surprise. Due to the exclusive contract signed with PlayStation, until now the game appeared only at the Sony events.
The first day came with a lot of new game trailers, some of them confirming the games’ launch for Stadia, like Cyberpunk 2077, Samurai Showdown, or Mortal Kombat 11.
Also, the public saw for the first time the trailer for New Predator: Hunting Grounds and for Little Nightmares 2 that will release in 2020.
Gamescom celebrated ten years since its first convention and over 370,000 people all around the world were present at it.
